There were multiple design challenges solved in helping Nalu Medical develop their unique, minimally invasive approach to spinal cord stimulation (SCS) therapy. Different methods of holding the wearable therapy disc securely and comfortably in place over the implanted pulse generator were created and tested, ultimately arriving at an adhesive solution. Also, different design options and techniques for enabling the patient to easily place and remove an adhesive clip and the therapy disc from their lower back were explored, tested and refined using a robust user-centered design process.
