The BioFire FilmArray Torch is a high throughput lab-based device for molecular infectious disease diagnostic testing. The previous software interface, navigated by keyboard & mouse, was reimagined and transformed into a modern touchscreen interface with a simple and intuitive workflow. One challenge was to design the GUI to be adaptable to accommodate different instrument configurations ranging from 2 to 12 modules depending on customer needs.
